Hacker Cracker: The Life of Ejovi Nuwere

The story of Ejovi Nuwere is a riveting, on the "edge of your seat" type adventure. It is not a novel or science fiction but the true story of a young African American man from New York who becomes involved in the computer hacking underworld. All is not lost as he ultimately transforms himself into a world-class computer security expert working with some of the largest financial firms in the world.

Born in Bedstuy (Do or Die), New York, Ejovi Nuwere who was named by his Nigerian stepfather had all the odds stacked against him. In an environment where drugs and alcohol, gang violence and murder were more realistic choices than becoming a professional or even completing high school, Ejovi manages to overcome these obstacles and become a success that almost anyone can envy.

Ejovi's early life was an example in opposites. While he had a natural affinity for computers he also created or joined gangs for protection. While working to earn money or pursuing legitimate entrepreneurial interests he practiced and mastered hacking at night.

His family, although extended, were no different. Ejovi's family was hardworking but almost polar opposites. One of his uncles had a penchant for the rough life while another studied at night for his Masters in mathematics. His grandmother was the matriarch that held the family together although his mother, who had her own demons to work out, couldn't quite do the same. Through it all Ejovi persevered!

It was through his graduate student uncle that Ejovi gained access to a computer and where his story takes flight. "Hacker Cracker" details the gritty world in which Ejovi struggled to survive. Not only does it explain how he struggles but also how he manages to flourish. "Hacker Cracker" takes you into the world of the hacker and explains the motivations as well as what it is like for a young Black man involved in that scene.

Although Ejovi didn't grow up as an angel and never claims to be, he is living proof that if an individual is given a chance or has the opportunity anything is possible. His story also demonstrates that if you have a skill or can do something that no one else can, your success can almost be assured. He rises from the depths of depravity to the high-rise world of corporate success. He is the man called upon to protect organizations most vital assets, their finances.

With a never quit attitude and desire to always be the best at what he does, Ejovi's colorful life will grab the reader's attention and will not let go until the ride is over. Although he is one of the best at what he does in the field of computer security, his life comprises much more than this and the reader will not be disappointed.

At each stage in his young life, the reader follows the progression and growth of Ejovi as a young man born on the fringe of society who reaches the most inner circles. Through it all he manages to maintain balance. It is an inspiring story, one that chronicles the life of an ordinary young man with drive, goals and ambition. Although he stumbles at times he continues to pick himself up until he reaches success. It is almost guaranteed to make the reader feel as if he or she can accomplish the same.
